Kindle Edition Verified Purchase. The text is fine, but the way the kindle version gives you the sections of the page is weird.
My teacher assigns book readings by page number, so it's nearly impossible for me to do them from the kindle. Instead of buying this book, I would suggest googling the title and the edition and you will find it free online, page by page, with figures and charts and all. One person found this helpful. The Atlas of Global Development: It contains not only hard statistics, but also personal opinions on how to interpret them.
It is very detailed, yet still easily readable. A great tool for anyone interested in the current state of global affairs. While the World Bank is not liked by many, its data is generally regarded as very reliable. This book puts in visual terms a lot of aspects of the state of our planet. Very easy to digest, with lots og graphs and images in different colours. No heavy text parts but all easy to read and understand.

I can't really write about the book contents because I have not read it yet. I purchased it for use in one of my classes. I must say that the book came fast and in excellent condition. Not much to say in the face of facts, just watch, understand and learn. Certainly, it may not get 5 stars as a coffee table showoff book. But if you are not getting the book for idle reasons, but because you need to know, in order to make decisions, it does deserve its 5 stars. If you expend the time to understand what the information presented means, you get access to information that would be limited to large multinational corporations and governments without the worldbank publishing these books.

It shows development in five different aspects: It also devotes a chapter to statistics and their importance in these kinds of reports. It states that development is a process that never ends which I doubt because there always has to be a roof to touch It has a lot of graphics but it also has a bunch of compelling photographs of poor children in nations that are on the path of destitution. It shows; for example a beautiful and healthy looking kid from Bhutan whose life expectation is a maximum of 35!
This leads to gigantic pollution problems; and scarce of energy supplies.
